As much as I want to say that what we are seeing and hearing isn’t America, it is America. America is where the poor are treated like cattle, made to believe they are free, to roam wherever they please, but only if they stay where they are suppose to, do what they are suppose to, give of themselves when asked, and if need be die so that the rich may live. And the rich and powerful, they live outside the bounds and rules of the prairie; they take from the cattle what they want, when they want, and define the lies told to the cattle.
America is unchecked capitalism where the rich pay less tax than the poor, forcing the poor to pay for a mandatory education system designed by the rich to keep the poor ignorant and malleable.
It has long been said our education system only teaches people to be mindless drones, to accept a specific input and produce a specific output, and to be publicly ridiculed and socially ostracized if they don’t comply. Our “education” system doesn’t teach how to think critically, it teaches how to think only one way, where there is only one correct answer and you must regurgitate that answer repeatedly until you know nothing else. That is why we have so many people who are fed lies and they repeat them, because that was what they were taught to do.
Unchecked capitalism requires an ignorant, unthinking workforce that believes it’s smart; after all, that is how you get more work, for less money while keeping the workers in debt to the company. All you have to do is tell the poor that debt is the American Dream, and they’ll believe it because they know no better.
The more capitalism kept critical thinking out of reach for the drone workforce and kept them quiet wage slaves, it was only a matter of time for a tyrant to come along and tap into that widespread weakness to absorb as much power as possible faster than the majority of the public could see what was happening.
However, our founders tried to prepare for this eventuality. One way was with the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment attempted to keep an armed public so that if another tyrant came along, the people could once again rise to take back their country. However, the founders did not foresee the shape of today’s media, where people may only hear a tyrant’s lies and never know the truth.
I still hold hope that collectively we will seize our power again before it’s too late. But as it stands today, America is the power-mad racist, dictator. We are the unchecked superpower hell-bent on taking whatever we want and to kill protesters who don’t like it.
If Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Denmark aren’t holding secret meetings and preparing for conflict then I have given them too much credit. They should be able to see what’s happening, and they should know how this ends. And if they aren’t willing or able to stop us, we actually may be doomed: an unarmed mob of protesters defenseless against a government with no qualms against killing its own people and calling them the threat. Just another Iran, North Korea, Russia.
There’s no telling how this nightmare will end. Guess we’ll just need to fuck around and find out.
