Vote!

Those who don’t vote have likely already stopped reading. It’s a shame that the rich elite’s campaign to make poor people think their vote doesn’t count has worked so well.

They have swallowed the line, hook and sinker. They’ll spout in a knowledgable tone that votes don’t count and there’s no difference regardless of who’s in office, and I could go on with all the ignorant statements I’ve heard. These fools have been cleverly programmed to give up, to sacrifice the most powerful right they have so others, who know the truth, have more power when they vote, and you can bet your ass the rich vote.

For the rich, it is best if the poor stop voting altogether so that corruption can seriously run amok. Sure, one vote will not change everything over night; it takes knowing whom your representatives are catering to, how they vote, what they do instead of what they claim. Vote based on this information and keep at it and the system will change, but it’ll take time. Decades of people not voting has lead to Americans getting murdered in the streets by government officials with badges, and at this point, it’s the non-voters who are at fault because they silently surrendered their rights to the racists, bigots and misogynists, which is exactly what they’ve wanted ever since the slaves were freed.

Fail to vote, fail to hold your representatives accountable, fail to fire every corrupt prick, and you will get nothing but corrupt people who have long stopped working for the people and instead work for private interests. When people fail to vote, the system breaks down into a dictatorship, because no one truly votes in a dictatorship.

To all the non-voters, when you get pulled over, harassed by a uniform with a badge and get shot, well, take your medicine and shut the fuck up. That’s what happens when people stop voting long enough. Once you or a loved one is shot, it’s too damn late to complain about the elected sheriff or mayor or police commissioner; you not voting is tantamount to saying, “I don’t care what kind of person you put in charge, even if that person encourages violence against me.”

Sure, voting takes work. You need to know as much as you can about the people who say, “I’ll do that.” They work for you, so look into the kind person they are just like you would if hiring people to start your small business.

Luckily, I live in Colorado; my state makes it mandatory to mail to every registered voter booklets that explain proposed changes to the constitution or statues and reports on every judge up for retention. I don’t have to hunt for that information. But I went through, studied the parts that are harder to understand, so I could make the best choice for me. So when the ballot arrived, I was able to fill it out quickly and dropped it off.

I take my vote seriously. If these racists, bigots, misogynists, assholes do end up taking over my country, it sure won’t be because I threw up my arms, surrendered and I claimed, “Do what you want with my rights.” So, join the fight, don’t give up, make these racists politicians scared again, fire them: Vote!
