Holographic God

Here’s a strange idea from a dream I had last night, what if god or gods are a hologram.

There is this strange premise based on some scientific studies that matter isn’t present but projected, a result of a wave, like light causing shadows to appear on a wall; therefore, the universe is nothing more than an extremely sophisticated hologram. I have to agree that a sophisticated enough system could generate a simulation of the universe and every object and thought in it, and without an alternate perception, we would remain ignorant, oblivious and unable to comprehend the true reality that would drive such a simulation. All we would possibility have is an indication that there is more than we can detect or perceive.

This all being said, what if someone in such a simulation was able the hack the system and erase god or, if you prefer, gods. By eliminating the generated entity or concept of god it also eliminates evil, because evil cannot exist without good and vise versa. While some religious beliefs do not have the equivalent of a satan, or pure source of evil, they do have a source of creation, of good and peaceful. The creation of good also creates bad as a distinguishing byproduct inherent in dualism, if you will.

But back to this hack of the hologram, such a reset would bring about a creepy calm. There is happy and sad but no longer thoughts of good and evil. The simulated entities in such a hologram would then become unable to describe anything as good or bad, pious or sinful, holy or evil. What would such a society think of wars or murders? How would they describe such events? Would other concepts take over as a prime foundation of how we view the world? How would such a society function with just kind or rude, happy or sad, joy or displeasure.

Maybe there’s already a society out there that does not have concepts of good and evil. It is just fascinating to think about.
